Please read through all my notes before you pick up your hook, so you know just where we're heading in our pattern.

For our boho beach bag, I have worked off the photograph here, using the yarn I have in hand.  I do not know if there is a pattern for this bag – anyway, the yarn used for the project is way thicker than the one I am using (it looks like t-shirt yarn) so I would need to tweak my pattern anyway.

The beauty of this project is more due to the use of two colours.  Use at least two colours, but you could use more colours as well.
As the changing and choosing of colours marks your creativity, I will leave the choice of colours and the changing totally to you.

Edited to add : After I finished making my bag, I chanced on the photograph on a Pinterest page and after several clicks (& hunting through several web pages), I found this video for the bag ! As I said at the start, it is t-shirt yarn

Now here’s where we all can get creative.

free crochet pattern, free crochet bag pattern, free crochet beach bag pattern, free crochet boho beach bag pattern, free crochet bohemian bag pattern, purse thread, polyester purse thread, Pradhan Stores,

You can opt to work Rounds 10 – 20 once more
OR you can opt to work a plain hdc base for a few more rounds, before working a nice lacy pattern.

So if you are choosing Option 1 – work Rounds 10 – 20 once more.

For Option 2 : Work a few more rounds of Round 20 to strengthen the base.  What you could do is alternate colours – to get bands for the base.

I then worked a few rounds of bands of colour.  There is no pattern here – I just worked a hdc in each hdc all around.  I worked 3 – 4 rounds in each color.

For the lacy pattern
Round 1 :sc in the 1st hdc ;
*ch 3, sk next 3 hdc, sc in the next hdc* ;
rep *to* all around and join with a sl-st to the 1st st.

For the next round / Round 2 :sl-st into the 1st ch-3 sp ;
*ch 3, sc in the next ch-3 sp* ;
rep *to* all around and join with a sl-st to the 1st st.

Continue working Round 2 of the lacy pattern all the way to the top, till you get the length needed.

Remember that we will be working in straps that will further increase the length of your bag.

For the straps , there are two ways to work it :
a)   visit my earlier creation at
b)   Do this simpler slightly different pattern that I’ve worked today. If working this pattern, read ideas below.

Strap ideas :

free crochet pattern, free crochet bag pattern, free crochet beach bag pattern, free crochet boho beach bag pattern, free crochet bohemian bag pattern, purse thread, polyester purse thread, Pradhan Stores,

Please check my earlier pineapple boho bag for inspiration and ideas.   https://shyamanivas.blogspot.com/2018/03/pineapple-boho-beach-bag.html
One can also make an I-cord or flat strap. Check finishing below.

Finishing :
If you were unable to work the pattern after working 2 rows of sc /hdc, then follow these instructions
a)   After you have reached the last row of pattern, please work about 2 rows of sc, so that you have sufficient space after the last paw print pattern to attach your lining.
b)   Re-attach your yarn at the start fsc row and work the same 2 rows that you have worked along the other end for even ness

Once you have got the rectangle neatly completed, use the links below to work the finishing.

a)   How to line the bag : View the link below to see how to easily line your handbag. http://pattern-paradise.com/2014/06/12/tutorial-how-to-line-a-crocheted-bag/
