CLUTCH PURSE
This
is my third kitty cat clutch purse inspired by a pattern that I have used
before. The original pattern is by
Amy Brewer at http://amysastitchatatime.blogspot.in/2017/01/meandering-paw-prints-free-scarf-pattern.html

Materials used : Just over one cone of polyester purse yarn in cones , with a 3.5 mm crochet hook ; fabric glue to seal ends
General yarn info : This polyester yarn is available only in India.
The yarn used today is not specific to this pattern.
You can use any yarn with a suitable hook to make this project to any size.
International yarns : Among the international yarns I have used in this thickness, I’d suggest Aunt Lydia Cotton 10, Aunt Lydia Bamboo-Viscose 10, DMC Petra, Sullivans knitting cotton (Australia), Milford Soft, Hilaza Rustica Eclat , Alize cotton yarn and Alize bamboo yarn.
Skill level : Intermediate.

Instructions using U.S terminology
Please note that I start all my rows with a ch 1, turning chain for ease.
Please check the top of this blog for easy video tutorials on all stitches used in today's pattern.
Please read through all my notes before you pick up your hook, so you know just where we're heading in our pattern.
For our clutch purse, I have adapted the
Meandering Paw Prints Scarf pattern by Amy Brewer at http://amysastitchatatime.blogspot.in/2017/01/meandering-paw-prints-free-scarf-pattern.html and http://amysastitchatatime.blogspot.in/2017/06/meandering-paw-prints-over-rainbow.html
The pattern is an original by the designer Amy Brewer, and you will need to go to the link above for the actual pattern. Amy gives several pattern ideas using the paw
print, so do check the above link out.
However, I am going to tell you how I worked on my clutch purse here, adapting
Amy’s pattern.
a)
We will work our clutch purse as a rectangle,
working side to side along the width of the purse.
b)
Decide on the length and width of your clutch
purse.
c)
The number of stitches you start with will
determine the width of your purse and as you work along the pattern, you
will get the length of your purse.
d) As you will see on the pattern sheet, our start count is
in multiples of 20. Start with
fsc (or chain as given on the pattern sheet) in multiples of 20 (or 22 if
working a chain-start) and continue with the pattern
e) If you are working on a smaller project (say for a
wallet) and 20 stitches are good enough for your width, check the pattern for
the scarf
f) If you are working on a clutch purse and need more than
20 stitches, check the 2nd pattern link for the blanket.
g) I chose to
work my whole pattern substituting hdc where ever dc was used.
h) I thought that rather than start the pattern right from
the 1st row, I worked 2 rows in plain hdc and then worked the
pattern.
i) I ended with 2 rows of hdc as well.
j) I love that this beautiful pattern can be worked to suit
any length.
Please
go to the pattern instructions and work a rectangle of the width and length
needed and come back here for finishing ideas.
Finishing :
If
you were unable to work the pattern after working 2 rows of sc /hdc, then
follow these instructions
a) After you
have reached the last row of pattern, please work about 2 rows of sc, so that
you have sufficient space after the last paw print pattern to attach your
lining.
b) Re-attach
your yarn at the start fsc row and work the same 2 rows that you have worked
along the other end for even ness
Once
you have got the rectangle neatly completed, use the links below to work the
