LOVELY AND SIMPLE HEADWEAR

In this blog, we will work on three little pieces of headwear – most have been done before – but I’ve tried a little new twist and tweak here.  So come along and let’s whip out some cute, and simple headwear.
With Christmas just around the corner, methinks these are cute accessories to make as gifts – and these are not just for Christmas time

For most of these patterns, you can use it as a hanging toy ornament off your tree. All you need to do is attach a length of chain off one side.  If you attach it to a rubber band ; or tic-tac clip, then you get a neat hair clip.  Have fun.

1.       SPIRAL HAIR BOW TIE

For our first pattern, I found this cute spiral hair tie.  I have made this spiral pattern before as extensions from a beanie / cap, and looking at this photograph, I got an idea.  When I showed this photograph (below) to a friend, she found a pattern link for it, so get this at (https://in.pinterest.com/source/crazysockscrochet.blogspot.com/)

For our spiral hair tie, we are going to make the hair tie and attach it to a rubber band.  That way, you will always have a nice bow and perfect spirals falling off it.

Start : with an fsc chain that is long enough for you to make a bow.  It does not matter how long or short you want the hanging tie bits. Ch 1, and Turn.

Now before you proceed, make a neat bow in the centre of this long fsc chain that you have made, such that you have a perfect bow in the centre and two long hanging bits on the side.
Mark the ends of the hanging bits (i.e the part that comes out from under the bow.  Look at the photograph to see what I mean)

Depending on how spirally you want your tie, work 3 or 4 hdc per fsc as instructed.

Row 1 : 3 hdc in the 1st fsc and in each fsc till 3 fsc before the marked fsc ;
sc in each fsc till 3 fsc after the next marked fsc ;
3 hdc in each fsc till end.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

To put together : Make your bow back again, and attach it to the rubber band through the centre of the bow.  Ensure that the bow is properly fastened and will not come off if pulled by a child – this will ensure that the bow is always perfect, no matter what!

2.     SCINTILLATING SNOWFLAKE

 For this pattern, visit Sarah London’s blog at https://sarahlondon.wordpress.com/2010/12/19/simple-snowflake/
Add in a few beads or bling and watch it come alive!
Once you have completed making the cute lil snowflake, all you do is attach a tic-tac clip onto the back of it, and clip it onto your hair to show off on social media :)
