SNOOPY DOG TOWEL RING HOLDER

Snoopy is one of my favourite little dogs, and I thought it would be fun to make an amigurumi and convert it to a towel ring holder.
The towel behind Snoopy makes him look like he’s a Super Dog, wearing a cape

Today we have four parts to our creation – making cute little Snoopy dog amigurumi toy, preparing the ring, the holding chain and then finishing and putting it all together.

Part 1 : The Snoopy dog amigurumi toy

Once you are done with this adorable Snoopy dog toy, come back here to see how we convert it into a towel ring holder / topper.
Of course you could well decide to keep this just as a toy – then bye bye and enjoy your creation.

Oh, I decided to give Snoopy a long scarf instead of the red collar.
For this, I just worked a long fsc chain for the length I wanted, and then worked sc all the way back to the end.

Part 2 : Covering the ring or bangle
I used a some gold polyester purse yarn to cover my ring.
But basically using any yarn, work one round of sc all around the ring, just like we did in yesterday’s creation.

To do this, you start with a slip knot around the ring and then work sc all around.

How do you work sc around the bangle / ring? Like you usually work an sc, but you work the hook around the bangle and then grab your yarn to work the sc.

Single Crochet : Sc : yo, insert hk into st ; yo (2 lps on hk); yo, draw through both lps.  One sc made.  Check out the video at https://youtu.be/ghACqBpA-3k

First stitch for Single Crochet : This is how I like to start my row of sc. Check out the video at https://youtu.be/6pVYRfsf4_M

Please read info on Part 3 before you fasten yarn off for Part 2.

Part 3 : The holding chain
For today’s creation, I worked about 45 chain as usual, but I worked the chain just after I finished off Part 2.  I skipped a few stitches in between the ring and attached my chain with a sl-st to the ring.

I had a small gold ring that I have attached the the centre of my holding ring.
You do not need this second tiny ring for the holding chain.  I had one, so I used it.

So basically, in this case, I worked 20 chain, then worked 5 sc around the ring to secure it to the centre, and then 20 chain again and fastened it to the adjacent leaf.
This is an option, if you find a small ring that works for you.
This ring will then hold my creation onto the hook on the wall.

Part 4 : Finishing and Putting it all together
I have attached my Snoopy dog amigurumi from around the back of his neck onto the front top of my prepared ring.
I used an embroidery needle.
So he hangs in such a way that the towel ring is behind him, and the towel will always look like he’s wearing a cape ;). Our very own Sooooper Doggg :)

Please use the photograph as a guide.
Before you fasten off, please hold your creation up with the ring or centre of chain and see that it holds.

Secure your towel holder onto the wall and hang your towel through and smile.  This is a beautiful project – don’t you agree?
