For today’s gorgeous Camellia flower, we head straight to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyd1WP9HwWc
Once we've made our flower, come back here to see how I've adapted this into a towel topper.

This 3D flower video tutorial is not in English, but if you slowly follow what she’s doing, you really don’t need the volume on either… and if you do keep the volume on, who knows, you may just understand the repeated word and know what stitch she means ? Learn a new language too, why not huh?

Right, so once you're done making the flower and leaves etc, all you need to do is convert this into a ring holder.
This is in two parts.

Part 1 :
So first off attach the bangle or ring (that you will use to pass the towel through).
I have first run a full round of sc all around my bangle  - (just to get it to the same green color as my leaves – but this was my personal choice).
I then joined to the last st with a sl-st.
As I was working the sc all around, I joined the bangle along the back with the flower - for two petals.  You could attach the bangle around the back for 3 petals too , especially if you are using a thinner yarn. This completes Part 1 - attaching your bangle / ring to the 3D Camellia flower.

Part 2 is making that long chain loop that you will use to hang this off the nail or hook on your wall.   So as you finish attaching the flower to your ring / bangle, do not fasten off.
For this 2nd part, just work as many chain as you need to hang it.
I had this tiny ring handy and I have used that to be the centre point of my chain and it’s this ring I’ll hang off my hook on the wall – but once again this is a personal choice and you don’t need this ring either.
(I worked about 25 chain till my ring, about 6 sc along the ring and then 25 chain back again to attach)

You just need a length of chain to hang your beautiful Camellia flower off the wall.

More ideas and tweaks :
In Part 1 if you do not want to run a round of sc all around, all you need to do is work a few sc along one side of the bangle.. say about 10 – 15 sc.  You then go straight for Part 2 and work that length of chain.  So directly work as many chain as you need as explained above.

Please use the photograph as a guide.

Before you fasten off, please hold your creation up with the ring or centre of chain and see that it holds.

Secure your towel holder onto the wall and hang your towel through and smile.  This is a beautiful project – one that can not only be made in several colors, but using any yarn and any hook that’s suitable for that yarn.
Go ahead and make a few to gift to friends.  Remember to share the photos with me so I can share them on my Facebook page.
