For Indians : You could use Anchor , Red ros ; Red rose metallic or  unbranded  knitting cotton as well
General yarn info : Today’s yarn is not specific for this pattern.
For this project, use any yarn with a suitable hook to make this project to any size.

Difficulty level : Intermediate

Starting slip knot 1 or the Sloppy Slip knot : https://youtu.be/YfC7KmGpifs
How to work a picot stitch : Traditionally for a ch-3 picot, you work (ch 3, sl-st in 3rd ch from hook).  For a ch-5 picot, you will do (ch 5, sl-st in 5th ch from hook).
Here’s a great video https://youtu.be/8s3zVaBcn4s

Instruction information  Using U.S terminology
Please note that I start all my rounds with a ch 1 turning chain for ease.
Please check the top of this blog for a video tutorial on all the stitches needed to make this full project.
Please read through all my detailed notes before you pick up your hook.
This helps you get an idea of what we’re creating and what notes / videos to look out for.

You can make this doily all in one color or change colors as you desire.
I am not indicating color changes as that’s your creativity.

What is a slip stitch :  https://youtu.be/weB3QNbA8Iw

Join with a sl-st to the 1st st.

What is a chain stitch ?  https://youtu.be/pXx5ukBjKkY
Round 2 : ch 5, sc in the same sc ;
(sl-st into the next sc ; ch 5, sc in the same sc) ;
rep (to) all around.
Join with a sl-st to the 1st st.

Double Crochet : dc : yo, insert hk into st ; yo (3 lps on hk);

Chainless start for Double Crochet : I dislike the ch-2 / ch – 3 start, and this is what I do to start my row of dc.
Check out the video at https://youtu.be/wskv3iTjRx0
Double crochet 3-tog : dc 3-tog :   Here is an easy video tutorial at https://youtu.be/qlnqXDB3OUM
Round 3 : sl-st into the 1st ch-5 sp,
(dc 3-tog ; ch 3, dc 3-tog) all in the same 1st ch-5 sp ;
*ch 3, rep (to) in the next ch-5 sp* ;
rep *to* in each ch-5 sp around ;
Join with a sl-st to the 1st st.

Round 4 : sl-st into the 1st ch-3 sp,
5 dc in the same 1st ch-3 sp ;
*ch 1, 5 dc in the next ch-3 sp* ;
rep *to* in each ch-5 sp around ;
ch 1, and join with a sl-st to the 1st st.

Round 5 : sc in the 1st ch-1 sp,
(ch 5, sk 5 dc, sc in the next ch-1 sp) ;
rep (to) all around ;
Join with a sl-st to the 1st st.

The following round is a little bit complicated.
We work something like a “V”-st using dc 2-tog stitches worked over 2 sc and ignoring ch-5 sps in between.

Double crochet 2-tog : dc 2-tog :  [yo, insert hk in st or ch-sp, yo and pull up a lp ; yo and draw through 2 lps] 2 times (3 lps on hk) ;
{yo, draw through 2 lps on hk} 2 times.  One dc 2-tog made.
This video tutorial at https://youtu.be/1_oPlUfN5eg shows you how to use the dc 2-tog to decrease.
Sometimes we work the dc 2-tog in the same stitch, to use as a decorative stitch.
Visit this video tutorial at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MCQOBc83Vxo

Round 6 : dc 2-tog in the 1st sc ;
sk next ch-5 sp, dc 2-tog in the next sc ;
*ch 7, dc 2-tog in the next sc ;
sk next ch-5 sp, dc 2-tog in the next sc* ;
rep *to* all around ;
ch 7 and join with a sl-st to the 1st st.

In our last round, we can opt to finish with a picot.
So you will work the same pattern as for Round 7, but we add the picot as you end.  The ch-3 stitch then is (ch 1 + picot + ch 1) in between the dc 3-tog sets all the way around.

Here is a video to show you how to work a ch-3 or a ch-5 picot.

Round 7 : sl-st into the 1st ch-7 sp ;
(dc 3-tog ; ch 3, dc 3-tog) in the same 1st ch-7 sp ;
*ch 3, sc on the next dc 2-tog ;
ch 3, rep (to) in the next ch-7 sp* ;
rep *to* all around ;
Join with a sl-st to the 1st st.
