This is a free blog - so do pay it forward for me.  Cheers.

Materials used : Today I’ve used some of our super soft (Indian) Ganga acrowools Zebra acrylic yarn with a 6 mm crochet hook.

International yarns :  Among the international yarns I have used, I’d suggest Aunt Lydia Cotton 10, Aunt Lydia Bamboo-Viscose 10, DMC Petra, Sullivans knitting cotton (Australia), Milford Soft, Hilaza Rustica Eclat , Alize cotton yarn and Alize bamboo yarn.

Chainless start for Double Crochet : I dislike the ch-2 / ch – 3 start, and this is what I do to start my row of dc.

Pattern notes : Using US Terminology
Please note that I start all my rows with a ch 1 turning chain for ease.
Please also check the top of this blog for easy video tutorials of all stitches used in today’s project.

I made this scarf twice.  For the first one, I used a slightly bulkier yarn – the Ganga Zebra yarn with 6 mm crochet hook. (https://www.pradhanembroiderystores.com/view_product_details/2634)

I made this project a second time, using a lighter yarn (Vardhman Crayons with a 4 mm crochet hook (https://www.vardhmanknitworld.com/knitting-yarns.htm

With my second project, I changed the stitches a wee bit as I found that the hdc-sc combination did not show up in the lighter yarn.

So I started with dc, and worked dc for every stitch that said hdc.
I therefore worked the “X” stitch in dc.
I worked all the alternate sc rows in hdc.
I feel that this works with the lighter yarn.  Try it and see if this works for you too.

For the tassels, I cut 10” lengths of yarn (about 20 per side for the lighter yarn) and passed it through the end of the scarf.   Using another yarn, I tied these bits  tightly about 0.5” from the top.

Thank you Megan for such a lovely scarfie pattern.

Block as per yarn requirements.
