FASHIONISTA DRESS

Fashionista Dress - free crochet project from Sweet Nothings Crochet
FASHIONISTA DRESS
Today’s creation started as a test with this lovely multicoloured yarn from Vardhman.
I thought that it would look fab as a bold top and then found this pattern that I thought would be ‘just right’ for it.

In my patterns I work with the principle of stitch count and body measurement.  This means that you need to work the stitch count in pattern, till you get the measurement (length and/or width) that you need for your project.

Today’s pattern is the Seaside Dress from Moon Eldridge and it is a paid pattern at https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/seaside-dress-2

I worked the pattern with my multi-coloured yarn for half the body and then changed to black yarn to get this fantastic effect.  I just love it, don’t you?

This multi-coloured Vardhman fashionista yarn is a soft yarn to work with.  Looking at the ball of yarn, I hoped that it would pool - sadly some of the color changes are too long so it didn't pool the way I wanted, but it worked well with this large yoke.
In case you want a smaller yoke, one ball of multi colored Fashionista yarn should work well.

Fashionista yarn will also work well for making blankets as it is soft and thick and pretty warm - especially for a coolish evening.   Remember it is acrylic (not wool - when you are thinking warmth, I mean)

The original pattern is for a sleeveless dress.  I added in sleeves.
For my sleeves, I worked a round of sc all around the armhole.  I then worked in dc all around for the length I wanted for my sleeve.
Now you need to remember to reduce stitches in the first two dc rounds.
For decrease, I worked four sets of dc 2-tog per round in the first two rounds.  I reduced two dc 2-tog at the start of the round, and ended with two reductions.
Two rounds of decrease gave me a good shape and also brought the circumference that I needed for the end of my sleeve - so keep an eye on both these measurements (round armhole as well as round sleeve and length) and you are good to go.
