ADORABLE CROCHET ELEPHANT AMIGURUMI & MATCHING HEADBAND
This adorable crochet elephant with a matching headband is a project I loved working on.
Thank you for joining me in our fun creativity session today.
Materials used : Today I’ve used some of our lovely Indian Oswal 4-ply yarns with a 3.5 mm crochet hook ; a little 4-ply knitting cotton ; embroidery needle
Skill level : Intermediate. Basic sewing skills needed.
Stitches used :
Magic circle : To refresh your skill, please view this easy video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLuSVyKvoUg
Chainless dc start : Instead of the usual start with ch 2 or ch 3, I’d like to introduce this lovely new way of starting a dc row. Do take a look at this self-explanatory super video http://www.mooglyblog.com/chainless-starting-double-crochet/
In case you are unhappy with this start, or do not like it, do continue with the usual ch-2 or ch-3 start. However, all instructions will be given assuming that you are using the chainless dc start.
How to join the two ends of your work : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUGb9pIcsXE
For this darling roly-poly elephant, I have been inspired by these two patterns at https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/little-elephant-4http://www.littlemuggles.com/publications/
I decided to add a large red bow around the neck to make it a 'boy' elephant and the cute white bow around the ear to make it a 'girl elephant'. My client loved it.. Let's see your ideas :)
For my headband, I used the elephant applique pattern from RepeatCrafterme at http://www.repeatcrafterme.com/2014/10/e-is-for-elephant-crochet-elephant.html
I made two (mirror-image) little motifs and then stuffed it slightly before attaching it to the headband.
Enjoyed this ?? I sure did.. come back right here for more freebie patterns

I love art and craft - and am grateful for this hobby that keeps me busy and out of 'mischief'.

We strongly believe in R-R-R and several of my projects will show this.
