Instruction information Using U.S terminology
Please note that I start all rows with a ch 1 turning chain for ease.

Please go through the full instruction sheet before you start, so you get an idea of what we’re doing.  Cheers.

Today’s creation has four parts.
First we make the unicorn – and for that we have a video tutorial for that.
Then we need to work on the ring (that holds the towel – or through which the towel will go) and finally we need to work on the hanging cord that will hold your towel ring on the hook off the wall.  I had a ring for the towel to pass through and I had a smaller ring that matched my holding cord (in gold) – so I’ve added that smaller ring at the top of my holding cord.

Part 1 : The Unicorn motif
I have used this pattern before – Golden Lucy crafts has a huge set of motifs just using this heart.  Do check that out – and using this method, you could make a range of towel ring holders yourself.

Part 2 : Covering the ring or bangle
Just like we did in yesterday’s creation, we need to run a round of sc all around the ring / bangle first.  I worked my unicorn’s horn in gold and have used the same gold colored yarn to cover the ring.
Again, I have used a bangle here instead of a (aluminium or steel) ring.
So let’s do this first.
To cover the ring, you start with a slip knot around the ring and then work sc all around.

How do you work sc? Like you usually do but you work around the bangle and then grab your yarn to work the sc.  Before you fasten off, check Part 3.

Single Crochet : Sc : yo, insert hk into st ; yo (2 lps on hk); yo, draw through both lps.  One sc made.  Check out the video at https://youtu.be/ghACqBpA-3k

First stitch for Single Crochet : This is how I like to start my row of sc. Check out the video at https://youtu.be/6pVYRfsf4_M

Part 3 : Making the holding chain
Just like we did in yesterday’s creation, I would suggest that you work the loop just as you finish covering the ring.  So after you join to the 1st sc, work a long length of chain.  The length you work will depend on how long you want it to be hanging off your hook.  You will then skip a few chain in the middle of your ring (say 5 – 7 chs) and then join to the ring with a sl-st.
I worked a total of about 45 chain for my creation.

Now as I told you before, I found a small gold ring that I decided to add in the middle of this holding chain.  So I just worked 5 sc around that ring.  This means that I first worked 20 chain, then 5 sc around the ring and 20 ch again and then attached to the ring.  Got it?

Part 4 : Putting it all together
Once done with the unicorn motif and have covered the ring, all you need to do is convert this into a ring holder.
Then using an embroidery needle, I have secured my unicorn motif to the top of the ring.

Please use the photograph as a guide.
You could choose to hold the unicorn motif to one side of the ring on top as well.

Before you fasten off, please hold your creation up with the ring or centre of chain and see that it holds.

Secure your towel holder onto the wall and hang your towel through and smile.  This is a beautiful project – one that can not only be made in several colors, but using any yarn and any hook that’s suitable for that yarn.
Go ahead and make a few to gift to friends.  Remember to share the photos with me so I can share them on my Facebook page.
