Let’s see if we can make this cute little stretching kitty cat motif and then transform it into a towel ring holder.

Materials used : Today I’ve used some Red rose knitting cotton with a 1.3 mm crochet hook, a ring (to hold your towel) ; fabric glue to seal ends ; embroidery needle ; sewing needle ; Mod Podge to stiffen motif
General yarn info : The yarn used today is not specific to this pattern.
You can use any cotton yarn with a suitable hook to make this project to any size.
For Indians : You could use Anchor , Red rose metallic ; 4-ply knitting cotton or unbranded knitting cotton as well as Oswal ; Vardhaman acrylic yarns
I'd suggest you use cotton for the motif, but could use any yarn for wrapping the ring, including polyster purse yarn
International yarns : Among the international yarns I have used, I’d suggest Aunt Lydia Cotton 10, Aunt Lydia Bamboo-Viscose 10, DMC Petra, Sullivans knitting cotton (Australia), Milford Soft, Hilaza Rustica Eclat , Alize cotton yarn and Alize bamboo yarn.

Today we have four parts to our creation – making the cute little stretching kitty motif, preparing the ring, the holding chain and then finishing and putting it all together.
Part 1 : Tiny stretching kitty cat motif

Once you are done with the motif, come back here to see how we convert it into a towel ring holder / topper.
Part 2 : Covering the ring or bangle
I used some shiny gold silk purse yarn to cover my bangle.
Before you fasten off your yarn at the end of Part 2, read Part 3 – as you can continue with the same yarn before you put it away,
Now you do not need to use gold yarn.
Basically using any yarn, work one round of sc all around the ring, just like we did in yesterday’s creation.
To do this, you start with a slip knot around the ring and then work sc all around.
How do you work sc around the bangle / ring? Like you usually work an sc, but you work the hook around the bangle and then grab your yarn to work the sc.

Then just for kicks, I worked a leaf-like pattern around the top of my bangle.

Part 3 : The holding chain
I worked with the same gold polyester silk purse yarn for the holding chain.
I had a matching little black ring that I decided to use for the center of my holding chain, but you don’t need this.
Basically, I worked a total of about 45 chain and attached this from the bangle / ring. But as I had that ring, I worked 20 chain, then 5 sc around the little ring, and 20 chain again to join to the main large towel ring.
I worked this chain just as I was finishing my ring, as I’ve told you before.
So finish with the ring covering, sl-st to tidy that off first, and then work your holding chain.
Check if you need to leave a few chain in the middle of your ring / bangle for better stability. This is a really light motif, so you may need less spaces in between.
Part 4 : Finishing and Putting it all together. 🤝
Place the cute little kitty motif inside your prepared ring and neatly attach – legs on the two different sides of the bangle – and you may want to attach the tail too. I used an embroidery needle.
Please use the photograph as a guide.
Before you fasten off, please hold your creation up with the ring or centre of chain and see that it holds.
Secure your towel holder onto the wall and hang your towel through and smile.
This is a beautiful project , isn’t it?
Make it using any yarn and any hook that’s suitable for that yarn.
