BUNNY RABBIT TOWEL RING HOLDER

After yesterday’s ever so cute towel ring holder / topper, let’s work on a a cute little bunny rabbit creation today.

Materials used : Today I’ve used some polyester silk purse yarn with a 4 mm crochet hook, a ring (to hold your towel) and 3 beads - for the eyes and nose.

General yarn info : The yarn used today is not specific to this pattern.

You can use any cotton yarn with a suitable hook to make this project to any size.

Instruction information Using U.S terminology

Please note that I start all rows with a ch 1 turning chain for ease.

Today’s creation again has four parts.

First we make the bunny rabbit motif.

Then we need to work on the ring (that holds the towel – or through which the towel will go) and finally we need to work on the hanging cord that will hold your towel ring on the hook off the wall. I used a bangle for the towel to pass through (instead of an aluminium or steel ring). Finally with all pieces in hand, we put it all together.

Part 1 : The bunny rabbit motif

Start with a magic circle and work (ch 5, sc in the magic circle) ;

rep (to) 4 times ;

join with a sl-st to the 1^st st (or to the magic circle) ;

pull tight and fasten off yarn, leaving a tail of yarn for attachment.

Part 2 : Covering the ring or bangle

Just like we did in yesterday’s creation, we need to run a round of sc all around the ring / bangle first. I worked my sc around my bangle.

I used the same white yarn, that I used for the face of my bunny rabbit, to cover my bangle / towel ring.

To cover the ring, you start with a slip knot around the ring and then work sc all around.

Do not fasten off – first check the idea given in Part 3 for the holding chain.

How do you work sc? Like you usually do but you work around the bangle and then grab your yarn to work the sc.

Part 3 : Making the holding chain

Today I have chosen to attach the holding chain to the tops of the bunny rabbit ears. Depending on the thickness of you yarn, you could choose to attach this holding chain to the ring as well - like we did for the past few days.

However, I wanted to place my rabbit at the top of the bangle / ring, and she was flopping over without support - the holding chain has provided support and this worked for me.

I worked a total of about 45 chain for this hanging loop and it worked for me.

Part 4 : Putting it all together

Once done with the bunny rabbit motif and have covered the ring, all you need to do is convert this into a ring holder.

Using an embroidery needle, I first added on the eyes and nose beads, and then added the flower motif just under the left ear.

I then secured my bunny rabbit motif to the top of the ring.

Please use the photograph as a guide.

Before you fasten off, please hold your creation up with the ring or centre of chain and see that it holds.

Secure your towel holder onto the wall and hang your towel through and smile.
