KATIA AUTUMN IRREGULAR SCARF
If you have been following my blogs, you’ll know
that recently I’ve been gifted with a lot of yarn. My first lot of yarn was in the wonderful
Katia Jaipur Mercerised cotton yarn and a second lot is from Debbie Bliss Cotton
Denim DK yarns.
Thank you for joining me.
In case you have just joined me, know that you can access all of my earlier creations by checking under ‘categories’ on the right hand side of this blog under “Labels”. Then, for your convenience, follow me here or on Facebook, You Tube, Pinterest, Twitter or Instagram.

Oh, and may I add that the fastest way to find any of my blogs is via Pinterest.
All my blogs can be printed. Find the printer friendly (green) link at the bottom of this blog. You can also hit Control P (or Command P for Mac) on your keyboard, and the blog will go directly to the connected printer.
Remember that you only print if absolutely essential. Save paper – Save Our Earth.
Do remember to add my blog URL when you make and show off your creation.
Just copy the link on the search bar above - that's the blog URL.
To purchase this or similar yarn online, click here to buy your yarns online via Amazon. While you will still pay the same, I may get paid by Amazon as well.
This is a free blog - so do pay it forward for me. Cheers.
Of course, as always, at the end of this blog
are lots of links for my earlier projects.
I was keen on making this an irregular scarf,
after the huge success of my irregular Spring scarf with the similar yarn. I was unable to find a suitable pattern that
would offset both the colors as well as the light feel of this yarn, and
chanced on this You Tube tutorial for a knitted scarf. I have tried to adapt the idea here using
crochet.
Thanks for joining me once again as we work on
and discover this new pattern together.
Materials used : Today I’ve
used ~ 100 gms of the lovely Katia Jaipur Mercerised cotton yarn with a 2 mm crochet hook
For Indians :
The Katia Jaipur cotton yarn is a little like our Indian Anchor or Red rose knitting
cotton in thickness.
Katia Jaipur Mercerised cotton available online right here. Click the convenient link on the top right hand side of this blog.

For this
awesome pattern, as I mentioned before, I was inspired by a free knitting
tutorial I found on You tube. This is
not in English, by the way, but for those who need a visual, the language does
not matter, I guess. Anyway, here’s the link for the knitted version at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XhEaSvVMpdo&feature=share
As I am
using a pretty thin yarn, I am going to work in hdc. If you are working with a thicker yarn and
larger hook, you could work this same pattern using sc.

Put your
work down and admire the beauty that you are creating. We have successfully completed one repeat. So
as you can see, it’s two rows of holes, followed by one spiky decrease that
will work all the way up the scarf.
Rep Rows
15 – 26 for the length you want for your scarf.
