LOOPY COWL

free crochet pattern, An infinity cowl using Loop Boucle yarn,
LOOPY COWL

This is a really simple cowl using chains.  This is a pattern I've used several times, and every time with the same superb end result.

Instructions : (Using U.S Terminology)
I received this yarn as a gift – it’s a really soft yarn and the first loop yarn I’ve handled.  I did not know what I could do with it – as I had only one ball.  I then went back to my old tried and tested infinity yarn that has turned out so well.
Before we head off to the project, let’s get an idea of what we’re creating here today.

Today, we’re creating an infinity cowl.  You could make a scarf with this pattern too.  You can make this project to any size – width or length – as desired.

I’ve made this pattern several times and it’s just fab.  You basically make a long chain that is the length you want for your scarf or cowl.  So make the chain length and hang it off from around your shoulders and see how long you want it – it’s that simple.  Then you join the ends (check the top of this blog on how to keep that chain straight while joining).  Frankly, you don’t actually need to stress about how straight this first chain row is, especially if you are working with loop boucle yarn .. this cowl is all loopy anyway!
Then you just make chains and join to the earlier chain row.  I have used a sc to join to the earlier row and worked a loose ch – 5 in my 2nd and all other rows after that.  I do not join at the end of each row, I just work in spirals and continue till I have run out of yarn or have a cowl as thick as I want.

As this beautiful pattern just has chains all through, it goes really fast and looks quite complicated – but as you’ll see it’s a dream.
If you decide to make this into a scarf, just don't join the ends and work back and forth in rows.. and this pattern will work for a wrap too - just increase the width of your shawl.
All that said, this pattern works best as originally written by the designer .

Please check Tamara Kelly’s Moogly link at https://www.mooglyblog.com/artfully-simple-infinity-scarf/ for the original pattern.  Thank you Tamara for this really simple pattern that is so darn artful!
