In my patterns I work with the principle of stitch count and body measurement.  This means that you need to work the stitch count in pattern, till you get the measurement (length and/or width) that you need for your project.
FLIRTY LACY BOLERO -modelled
This lovely creation was shared on Facebook recently, and I was soon asked if I could re-create this wonderful project.  I have been hard pressed for time, and I am grateful that this is a ready–made pattern.  Get the pattern here Or here

This pattern is worked side to side as a large rectangle.  The width is measured mid arm to mid arm across the back (just off the armhole, the top part of the upper arm).  This measurement will decide how long you work that first row you start with.

Read the instructions to see the multiples needed.

I feel that there is one small typo in Row 8.  All through the pattern, we work ch-3 sps.  In Row 8, we are asked to work a ch-4 sp and I thought this was out of sync, so I have followed the pattern, but worked a ch-3 sp in this row as well.

The instructions say that we repeat the rows till we reach the length needed for the bolero.  May I add that you check both the length & the round armmeasure.

So why do I say this? Well, the round arm measure is taken ‘mid arm’, that’s where our bolero ends (each side).  After we complete our rectangle, we join the two ends to make an armhole, and this will go around the upper arm – so it needs fit around that section. Got it?

I thought that these instructions were not very clear in the pattern sheet – which is why I have listed them here.

Hope you have fun creating this lovely bolero as well.
