THE ROUND - 3
Welcome
back to my next set of granny squares in the round.
The
idea of these granny squares is to make a big circle / round in the centre and
then work a square off it – and then embellish that big circle / round with
whatever is totally specific for the character or animal we are creating. Using this idea, let’s see what all we can
create here.
For
my first two sets, I used one pattern, and I then chanced on this cute
pattern. Using this base, I think I am
going to make some new patterns.. so keep an eye out for this blog.
As
you may know, I am making these squares to donate to Project Chemo Cancer. Their requirement is for 9” x 9”
squares. So all the squares I am making
here will be of that size. You can make
it to any size, using any yarn and suitable hook. Just adjusting the hook / yarn size, will
change the size of your square.

Materials used : Today I’ve used a 4-ply acrylic baby soft yarn with a 4 mm crochet hook ;
This yarn is not specific for this project.
You can use any yarn with a suitable hook to make this project to any size.
As today's project is a donation to Project Chemo Crochet, the squares need to be 9” x 9” - going towards toddler blankets
For Indians : You could use Anchor , Red rose ; Red rose metallic or unbranded knitting cotton as well as Oswal or Vardhaman acrylic yarns
International yarns : Among the international yarns I have used, I’d suggest Aunt Lydia Cotton 10, Aunt Lydia Bamboo-Viscose 10, DMC Petra, Sullivans knitting cotton (Australia), Milford Soft, Hilaza Rustica Eclat , Alize cotton yarn ; Alize bamboo yarn ; Spotlight 4-Seasons Stallion or Marvel acrylic yarns or "I-love-this-cotton" cotton yarn from Hobby Lobby.

As
you know I am making these squares specifically to a size of 9” x 9” and I
found that I managed that easily without too much of a tweak. I just worked till Round 10 and got to the
size I needed.
This
is a really awesome pattern, and I am surely going to use the base idea of this one again.
