JUS' GRANNY SQUARES
GRANNY SQUARES FOR PROJECT CHEMO

A few days back, my friend Prabha told me about this lovely project for cancer patients and once I read this, I knew I wanted to be a part of it.
Find out all about what is being done at   http://www.projectchemocrochet.com/.  This project is on-going and not time-based.  You can work at your own speed and send the squares in when you finish them - no rush, no pressure.. just love and a wonderful feeling of giving and fulfilment at the end of it all.

Thank you for joining me.

In case you have just joined me, know that you can access all of my earlier creations by checking under ‘categories’ on the right hand side of this blog under “Labels”.  Then, for your convenience, follow me here or on Facebook, You Tube, Pinterest, Twitter or Instagram.

Oh, and may I add that the fastest way to find any of my blogs is via Pinterest.

All my blogs can be printed.  Find the printer friendly (green) link at the bottom of this blog.  You can also hit Control P (or Command P for Mac) on your keyboard, and the blog will go directly to the connected printer.

Remember that you only print if absolutely essential.  Save paper – Save Our Earth.

Do remember to add my blog URL when you make and show off your creation.

Just copy the link on the search bar above - that's the blog URL.

To purchase this or similar yarn online, click here to buy your yarns online via Amazon.  While you will still pay the same, I may get paid by Amazon as well.

This is a free blog - so do pay it forward for me.  Cheers.

Come on, join me and let's spread a few smiles and make these squares for PCC, shall we?

I have been 'saving' square patterns I had on my to-do list ... so I went a-hunting for all those.  As I was working through them, I got other friends interested in this project, and they wanted ideas to work on.. so I thought I’d just compile all the links / patterns I’ve used.. and this blog was born!

Now for this project we need to make all our squares 9" x 9", but some of the links / patterns below are smaller sized - so all I did was work the pattern till end, and to make up the square to size, just did a few rows of dc all around.

Materials used : Indian Oswal acrylic yarn with a 3.5 mm crochet hook ; fabric glue to seal ends
This yarn is not specific for this project.
You can use any yarn with a suitable hook to make this project to any size.
As today's project is a donation to Project Chemo Crochet, the squares need to be 9” x 9” - going towards toddler blankets

For Indians : You could use Anchor , Red ros ; Red rose metallic or  unbranded  knitting cotton as well as Vardhaman acrylic yarns

International yarns :  Among the international yarns I have used, I’d suggest Aunt Lydia Cotton 10, Aunt Lydia Bamboo-Viscose 10, DMC Petra, Sullivans knitting cotton (Australia), Milford Soft, Hilaza Rustica Eclat , Alize cotton yarn ; Alize bamboo yarn ; Spotlight 4-Seasons Stallion or Marvel acrylic yarns or "I-love-this-cotton" cotton yarn from Hobby Lobby.
Abbreviations used :
sc : single crochet           dc : Double crochet
ch : chain                         ch-sp : chain space
sp : space                        rep : Repeat
hk : hook                          yo : Yarn over
