Materials used :
Today I’ve used about 100 gms of an unbranded 6/8 ply DK black
acrylic yarn with a 5.5 mm crochet hook
Skill level :

Size : 7.5”
wide x 84” long with tassels
You can make this to any size using any yarn with a suitable hook. Size only given for yarn estimation.

Please note that I start all my rows with a ch 1, turning chain for ease.

Please read through all my notes before you pick up your hook, so you know just where we're heading in our pattern.
In my patterns I use the concept of stitch count. This means that you will work the pattern, using this stitch count, for the length / width needed for your project. This ensures that you can use any yarn with a suitable hook to make this project to any size you want.

My write up here is only for the little differences I've made.
Check out my slightly different tassels too.
I am using a DK ply yarn with a 5.5 mm crochet
hook – same requirement as designer. I
however found the paw print too large (and holey), so I have worked with hdc,
instead of dc.
For all the rows after
creating the paw “hole” pattern, designer has a row of dc, and I worked an
all-dc row too, just to space the paw prints out nicely.
One really important thing that you must remember
is to count your stitches especially in the all-dc rows (Rows 5, 9, 13,
17.. you get what I mean).
In this pattern we create holes, and in the
following row work stitches in those ch-sps, but at the end of each row, you
must have the same number of stitches you started with.
And you’ll soon see how the wonderful pattern
works! Go for it!

The saree is the Indian beautiful dress that I
am sure you know about.. the “pallu” is that section that is thrown over the
left shoulder at the very end and has a lot of drama, art n craft work on
display. At the end of the pallu, one
sometimes has tassels, and sometimes these are woven macramé-like... and if you can't really see what I mean, I guess you just gotta make it ;)
So here’s what I did :
I did what Amy suggested and made the usual
looped in tassels, (and you have tassels from each stitch). For this basic macramé tie-up, we will split
these 4 tassels into 2 x 2, and tie up 2 from two adjoining tassels.
Row 1 : Skip 2
strands of Tassel # 1 ;
knot up the remaining 2 strands of Tassel # 1 +
2 strands of Tassel #2 ;
*knot up the remaining 2 strands of Tassel #2
with 2 strands Tassel #3* ;
rep *to* knotting 2 strands of two adjoining
tassels till you reach the end ; leave the last 2 strands of the last
Tassel. Turn.
Row 2 : knot up 2
strands of Tassel # 1 + 2 strands of Tassel #2 ;
*knot up the remaining 2 strands of Tassel #2
with 2 strands Tassel #3* ;
rep *to* knotting 2 strands of two adjoining
tassels till you reach the end. Turn.
This is all I have done. You can rep both rows 1 & 2 one more, if
you want more of a ‘patterned edging”, but that also means you have less of a
falling tassel.
Just so you can decide how much of this
patterned effect you’d like and how much falling tassel, you would need to try
this on a bit of yarn first.. and then decide how long you need to cut your
tassel.
