Instruction information
PART 1 : MINION FACE
We start with 2 circles (preferably in yellow) for the minion face.
two 'faces' for the minion
Remember : Do not cut yarn on 2nd circle

Half Double Crochet : Hdc :  yo, insert hk into st ; yo (3 lps on hk) ;

yo, draw through all 3 lps.  One hdc made.

What is a slip stitch :  https://youtu.be/weB3QNbA8I

Start Round 1 : with a magic circle and work 12 hdc in it.  Pull lightly to close the hole and join with a sl-st to the 1st st. (12 hdc)

Round 2 : 2 hdc in the 1st st and in each hdc all around.
Join with a sl-st to the 1st st. (24 hdc)

Round 3 : 2 hdc in the 1st st ;
hdc in the next hdc ;
(2 hdc in the next hdc ; hdc in the next hdc) ;
rep (to) all around.
Join with a sl-st to the 1st st. (36 hdc)

Round 4 : hdc in the 1st st and in each hdc all around.
Join with a sl-st to the 1st st. (36 hdc)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Make two circles exactly the same way.
When you finish the 2nd circle do not cut the yarn.  Go ahead and finish Part 2 and we'll put it all together in Part 3.

PART 2 : MINION SPECS
PART A : SPECS STRAP

Foundation half double crochet (fhdc) : This is an easy way to start a row of hdc without the starting chain row.

Here is an easy video tutorial https://youtu.be/SEG2UCRfypA

Choose a color for your minions specs and work the fhdc chain in that color
Make a chain of 30 fhdc.   Work as many sts as you need and check that this goes around the circle neatly (like the minion's specs do).  Fasten off and leave a long yarn for sewing
Make the fhdc chain for the specs frameCheck that the frame goes around the 'face'

PART B : EYES (Make 2)
For the eyes we will work without ending, in a spiral.  You will need a stitch marker to mark the last st.
Make two eyes
Single Crochet : Sc : yo, insert hk into st ; yo (2 lps on hk); yo, draw through both lps.  One sc made.  Check out the video at https://youtu.be/ghACqBpA-3k
First stitch for Single Crochet : This is how I like to start my row of sc. Check out the video at https://youtu.be/6pVYRfsf4_M

Round 1 : Using white yarn
Start a magic circle and work 6 sc in it.
Pull lightly to close and join with a sl-st to the 1st st.
Place marker in the last st. (6 sc)

Round 2 : 2 sc in the 1st st and in each st all around
and join with a sl-st to the 1st st.
Place marker in the last st. (12 sc)
Fasten off white yarn and add the specs color yarn

Single crochet front loop only (sc-flo) : https://youtu.be/4tjL1MtKP6U
Round 4 : Using whatever color you have used for the specs
sc-flo in the 1st st and in each st all around.
This gives a raised effect for the glasses outlining the frame.

PART C : ASSEMBLING THE SPECTACLES
We have two face circles and then the three parts for the specs (the flat "frame" and the eyes that need to fit on the frame.
As I wanted a neat finish this is how I did it.
position the eyessew the eyes onto the frames
I positioned the flat fhdc around the circle so that I have it neatly around. I then identified where I wanted to place the eyes and sewed them on.
So now I have my spectacles ready to go.

PART 3 : FINISHING
Now let's put it all together.
If you want this a bit squishy and soft then go ahead and get some poly-fill stuffing.
Remember we did not finish the face bit and you have the yellow yarn still there to be worked with, right.

So first let's attach the specs to one side of the "face". Once again position the glasses and sew one side (that has the eyes) on to the "face".
sc through both pieces of the 'face'working the 2nd part of the sc

finishing off the sc through both pieces of 'face'see what a neat finish this is
Keeping the two "face" pieces together start working a sc or sl-st that goes through both parts of the face pieces joining them together.  Ensure that you keep the glasses and eyes facing the top way up.
If you are stuffing the minion, stuff just before you finish joining the last few sts
Work all around till you have about 6 sts left (in case you are going to stuff your lil Minion.  Go ahead and stuff your minion and then finish the last 6 sts.  Join with a sl-st to the 1st st.

Working the strap : Before you finish off we need to work a long tie that will go around your luggage handle.
What is a chain stitch ?  https://youtu.be/pXx5ukBjKkY
work a long chain for your luggage tag tie
So work a long chain of as many sts as you want your tie (which is measured folded in half.  This means make a long chain, fold in half and see if that is sufficient for it to go around your luggage handle.  I worked 70 ch).
Sl-st into the same st you started from to finish.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
the little minion tag is all done
Finally stick on a bead for the centre of the eyes and and one really cute minion crochet luggage tag all ready to travel
Go ahead and let just your imagination be your limitation!
