ALPHABET KEY CHAINS

Alphabet key chains are really cute and fun projects and they’re so diverse and creative. I’ve worked on the full English alphabet both upper and lower case and made motifs to attach onto baby blankets, and I’ve made alphabet key chains before too.

Thank you for joining me.

In case you have just joined me, know that you can access all of my earlier creations by checking under ‘categories’ on the right hand side of this blog under “Labels”.  Then, for your convenience, follow me here or on Facebook, You Tube, Pinterest, Twitter or Instagram.

How did I make this into an alphabet key chain ?

There are two ways to work this depending on your skill level
The easier way is to work the alphabet motif pattern as given and then using an embroidery needle and the same yarn, attach the motif to the key chain ring.

The slightly complicated way is to attach the alphabet to the key chain ring as you are working on it.  The complication here is that you need to know how the alphabet is being created so you can attach it as you go.

For my letter “A”, I worked the alphabet first and then attached it to the key ring.
In my earlier alphabet key chain, I’d said that adding beads would make a big difference – and it does

I’ve used two different types of beads here. I strung the bead inside the plastic beady ‘hoop’ using embroidery needle and thread and then strung it onto the alphabet.

In my earlier alphabet key chains I’ve used a flower, so you could add a flower or a pompom here as well.
