IRISH LACE LEAF PENDANT

The jewellery bug still reigns and I’m still working with new ideas for neck pieces or chokers.  Not that I see you complaining, as we’re both back here.. same space.. yet again.. for another creation and adventure.

Materials used : Today I’ve used the lovely Indian Red Rose metallic cotton yarn with a 1.75 mm crochet hook ; Mod Podge to stiff motif ;  beads and more beads ; shells
stainless steel chain ; and you'll need small connector ring to make pendant

For Indians : You could use Anchor , Red rose , Doli cotton , 4-ply knitting cottonWhite rose knitting cotton,  or unbranded knitting cotton as well

General yarn information : As we're making a delicate little pendant, the thinner / lighter the yarn, and the smaller the hook, the more delicate the pendant.

International yarns :  Among the international yarns I have used, I’d suggest Aunt Lydia Cotton 10, Aunt Lydia Bamboo-Viscose 10, DMC Petra, Sullivans knitting cotton (Australia), Milford Soft, Hilaza Rustica Eclat , Alize cotton yarn and Alize bamboo yarn.

Please read through all my notes before you pick up your hook, so you know just where we're heading in our pattern.
In my patterns I work with the principle of stitch count and body measurement.
This means that you need to work the stitch count in pattern, till you get the measurement (length and/or width) that you need for your project.

If you have  been following my blogs, you’ll know that I have done several Irish lace projects before this.

For this leaf, I have used an earlier leaf pattern, which at that time was part of a doily – table linen.
Link for the table linen pattern on the tab (this leaf) and under the photograph

I used the same pattern and then added a little bit of other stuff to make it this cute little pendant.

Add on an ear ring hook, and you will have a pair of ear rings to match too.

Hooks on.. let’s go.

Our leaf is worked off a chain.  We will start with a chain and then work side to side off this chain, reducing the ‘end stitch’ so that we get this nice jagged edge of a leaf.

In the finished product, the designer has worked all through in the back loops only.  However, you could choose to work in the back loops or in the sc full stitch.
Totally up to you.
Assuming that you’re working the simpler single crochet all through, that’s how I’ve written the pattern notes.
If you decide to work in back loop, well, you just work sc-blo where ever you read ‘sc’.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

For the two little hanging beauties :

Magic circle :  https://youtu.be/ISC39yOqWro

I just worked a small magic circle with 6 sc in it and in Round 2, worked 2 sc per sc (total 12 sc).
Depending on which yarn you are using and how large you want this, you could do one final round.  I then added a few sequins onto the top and attached it to the top of the leaf.

Loving the look of this single hanging beauty, I threw in a second one 😄
If you so decide, add in a few beads and bling too.

When you are done with all the stuff that you want hanging off the leaf, ensure that you neatly attach it to a small ring that will serve as the loop for your chain to go through.  Fasten off and glue down all ends.

I am sure you are going to have a stunning pendant.

Do remember that this is where you read all about this cute shiny leaf pendant.
So please add my blog link / URL (and for that just copy the link on the top search bar) when you share and show off your project.
