BEADED HOOP EAR RING 11

Welcome back to my ear ring madness ;)
With many of my earlier ear rings, while we worked with a hoop, we worked either inside it with a tiny doily or just outside.  With this creation, the hoop is in the centre and we work in circles all around it.
Beads show off our creativity, so go a little bead-crah crah.

Thank you for joining me.

In case you have just joined me, know that you can access all of my earlier creations by checking under ‘categories’ on the right hand side of this blog under “Labels”.  Then, for your convenience, follow me here or on Facebook, You Tube, Pinterest, Twitter or Instagram.

Please read through all my notes before you pick up your hook, so you know just where we're heading in our pattern.
In my patterns I work with the principle of stitch count and body measurement.
This means that you need to work the stitch count in pattern, till you get the measurement (length and/or width) that you need for your project.

The beauty of this pattern is that it has practically no instruction.  You can use any yarn with a suitable hook to make this creation.  You can start with any sized hoop for that centre hole, and if you do not have a hoop, you can start without a hoop.
But how will your centre be a bit sturdy? Well, a little more work that those of us who find hoops but you can do it too.
So start with as many chain stitches as you think you need for that centre hole.  I am not specifying the number as it depends on how thick or thin a yarn you are using.  Now to stiffen that centre you can either start with or work it in later – but use a really thin wire.  If you are starting with the wire, you just make the hoop size you want and then work your sc all around it.
If you want to thread it in later, then you make your chains, and then thread the wire into the chains and then work the sc all around it.

Like I said before, there is no stitch count.

I am going to give you a basic idea without giving you stitch count

Start Round 1 : with working as many sc as you’d like around your hoop.
Join with a sl-st to the 1st st. Turn

Now remember to push your stitches back and fill in as many stitches as you can into that hoop.  Make it nice and tight – and do not let the hoop show through at all.
If you have done this right, then you will need no increase for the next round.
Remember you will be turning and working Round 2 along the back.  This will give the front stitches a pushed effect and make the ear ring reversible.. but this also means that both front and back need to be really clean and neatly finished.
Round 2 : sc in the 1st sc and in each sc all around.
Join with a sl-st to the 1st st.

For the next round, you may still not have to increase, but in case you do then work in an increase every alternate stitch.
Round 3 : 2 sc in the 1st sc ; sc in the next sc ;
(2 sc in the next sc ; sc in the next sc) ;
rep (to) all around.
Join with a sl-st to the 1st st.

Attach your ear ring hook to the centre of your ear ring creation.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

If you want it a little larger, then carry on increases as follows

Round 4 : 2 sc in the 1st 2 sc ; sc in the next sc ;
(2 sc in the next 2 sc ; sc in the next sc) ;
rep (to) all around.
Join with a sl-st to the 1st st.

Fasten off and weave in ends.
