STAR PENDANT

I’m starting on a series of pendants that are going for a donation to the Pediatric Palliative care of a local Cancer hospital.
Before you head off to the pattern, do add a prayer for the lil children.  Thanks.

Materials used : Today I’ve used our lovely Indian White rose metallic yarn with a 1.3 mm crochet hook and some beads for the eyes and tongue pearls ;   shells ; connector rings ; glue to seal ends.

For Indians : You could use Anchor , Red ros ; Red rose metallic or   unbranded knitting cotton as well

General yarn info : Today’s yarn is not specific for this pattern.
For this project, the finer the yarn, the cuter the end result – so go ahead and use any yarn with a suitable hook to make this project to any size.
You do not need beads either – just embroider it in.

International yarns :  Among the international yarns I have used, I’d suggest Aunt Lydia Cotton 10, Aunt Lydia Bamboo-Viscose 10, DMC Petra, Sullivans knitting cotton (Australia), Milford Soft, Hilaza Rustica Eclat , Alize cotton yarn and Alize bamboo yarn.

Difficulty level : Easy to Intermediate

Stitches used :
Starting slip knot : Here’s how you start with a slip knot.  https://youtu.be/lJcqsVcs8cw

Starting slip knot 1 or the Sloppy Slip knot : This is a neat new way to start your work without a slip knot.  https://youtu.be/YfC7KmGpifs

Note : If you are making this into a pendant, work your pendant hoop into one of the apex hdc sts.
If making this into an ear ring, that's where you will add your ear ring hook.

Finally add in beads for the eyes and tongue or embroider that in using the French knot embroidery stitch.
