BEAUTIFUL BOHO DREAM CATCHER

 Beautiful Boho Dreamcatcher - a free crochet pattern from Sweet Nothings Crochet
BEAUTIFUL BOHO DREAM CATCHER

This beautiful boho dreamcatcher has been designed by Haaknerd and I saw it on some group on Facebook. The person who shared it said she'd made it years back and could not find the pattern. Sadly she (nor I) were able to find the pattern - the website seems to have been shut down. I really liked this pattern and have decided to try and mimic it myself. These are my notes as I work on my own Beautiful Boho Dream Catcher. Thank you for joining me.

In case you have just joined me, know that you can access all of my earlier creations by checking under ‘categories’ on the right hand side of this blog under “Labels”.  Then, for your convenience, follow me here or on Facebook, You Tube, Pinterest, Twitter or Instagram.

Now in the final round, we will join to our ring.
So every time we work an sc in the ch-5 sp, we will work it around the ring and in the ch-5 sp together ; for all the sc in between the ch-5 sps, they are just around the ring.
Got it?

Round 18 : sc in the 1st ch-5 sp + around ring ;
(8 sc around the ring ; sc in the next ch-5 sp + around ring) ;
rep (to) all around ;
and join with a sl-st to the 1st st.
Optional :
You could decide to add picot sts all around. If you do that, work 1 picot in the 2nd sc of the 3-sc set between two ch-5 sps.
Round 19 A : sc + picot in the 1st ch-5 sp + around ring ;
(2 sc + picot + sc around the ring ; sc + picot in the next ch-5 sp + around ring) ;
rep (to) all around ;
and join with a sl-st to the 1st st.

How to work a picot stitch : Traditionally for a ch-3 picot, you work (ch 3, sl-st in 3rd ch from hook).  For a ch-5 picot, you will do (ch 5, sl-st in 5th ch from hook).

Here’s a great video https://youtu.be/8s3zVaBcn4s

You can work either a dc 3-tog or a trc 3-tog in the ch-4 sps.
We will also work a picot stitch on this last round.
If you want a beaded end round, add a bead instead of the picot stitch.
Its just that if you decide to add beads, the simplest way is to thread them in first - so rather than fuss around with them from the start, cut the yarn then add beads and carry on - bit fussy but the end effect will be worth it.

How to add beads : https://youtu.be/EcpgMgBox8I

How to work with beads in crochet : https://youtu.be/yanbAnF_pr0

I have added long tassels at the end of it all and threaded beads into some of the tassels for a nice bling effect

How to make tassels : Here’s a quick tutorial at https://youtu.be/Ct84H8iBa9s on how to make and add tassels to your crochet work.

How to make a small pattern with your tassels : Here’s a quick tutorial at https://youtu.be/Pt5BMW_OlAg on making a small pattern using your tassels.

Fasten off and weave in ends

To make this into a dream catcher : you need to work in a long tie that will hold your creation up.
Decide where you want to make this holding tie, and then work as many chain as you need.
I worked this tie chain at the end of the final round. So finish off the sc all around the last round and then I worked 100 ch and joined it to the last round, leaving a few sts in between.  All you need to see is that your 'holding tie' is long enough for where ever you wish to hang it from and that you join it such that it hangs evenly and you're done!

Finally go ahead and add all the feathers, beads and baubles to beautify your creation.
