In my patterns I work with the principle of stitch count and body measurement.
This means that you need to work the stitch count in pattern, till you get the measurement (length and/or width) that you need for your project.

Just a few days back I made a pattern very similar to this – and with just a small tweak, you get a totally different end product.

You can use this pattern to make it into an ear ring using any sized hoop.
Just ensure you get the stitch count right.

Start : by working sc loops around your hoop in multiples of 4.
Join with a sl-st to the 1st st.

In the following round, we will work a dc 4-tog over 4 consecutive (stitches next to one another) stitches.

Double crochet 4-tog as a decrease stitch : dc 4-tog :   Here is an easy video tutorial for working a dc 4-tog over 4 sts at https://youtu.be/WjSNi7ithIU

Double crochet 4-tog as a decorative stitch : dc 4-tog :   Here is an easy video tutorial for working a dc 4-tog all in the same stitch as a decorative stitch at https://youtu.be/_B0-ye0cClU

How to work a picot stitch : Traditionally for a ch-3 picot, you work (ch 3, sl-st in 3rd ch from hook).  For a ch-5 picot, you will do (ch 5, sl-st in 5th ch from hook).
Here’s a great video https://youtu.be/8s3zVaBcn4s

Now here’s where you get creative.
You can add a bead on the top of each petal or you can work a picot.
If you so decide, then work the ch 3 and dc 4-tog first, then work in the bead or the picot or the picot + bead, and then that last ch-3 to complete each petal.

For our picot, I’d suggest a ch-3 picot, which is (ch 3, sl-st into the 3rd ch from hk).
For the more adventurous, I’d suggest adding a bead to the picot.
Go ahead and create away.

However, as I’ve put this down as an Easy pattern, I’m going to leave all that creativity to you and not write the pattern that way.

Round 2 : ch 3, dc 4-tog over the 1st 4 sts ;
ch 3 and sl-st into the base of the last dc you just used ;
(ch 3, dc 4-tog over the next 4 sts ;
ch 3 and sl-st into the base of the last dc you just used) ;
rep (to) all around
and join with a sl-st to the 1st st.

So if you worked my earlier pattern, you’ll see that the difference is that you get a flower without a chain that runs between the ‘petals’ of our flower.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

You can add beads at any time.  I have added beads in the sc all around.
Have fun – create something unique.
