Materials used : Today I’ve used (Indian) Anchor knitting cotton yarn with a 2.5 mm crochet hook ; key ring
With this project, the thinner the yarn, the smaller the end result.  So, yarn choice does not matter.
For Indians : You could use Red ros or unbranded knitting cotton too
If you need beads etc check here or here or here

General yarn info : The yarn used today is not specific to this pattern.
You can use any yarn with a suitable hook to make this project to any size.
International yarns :  Among the international yarns I have used in this thickness, I’d suggest Aunt Lydia Cotton 10, Aunt Lydia Bamboo-Viscose 10, DMC Petra, Sullivans knitting cotton (Australia), Milford Soft, Hilaza Rustica Eclat , Alize cotton yarn and Alize bamboo yarn.

Start Round 1 : with a magic circle and work 8 sc in it.
Join with a sl-st to the 1st st.

Round 2 : 3 hdc in the 1st sc ;
(ch 2, 3 hdc in the next sc) ;
rep (to) all around ;
ch 2 and join with a sl-st to the 1st st.

In our final round we will use a picot st.

How to work a picot stitch : Traditionally for a ch-3 picot, you work (ch 3, sl-st in 3rd ch from hook).  For a ch-5 picot, you will do (ch 5, sl-st in 5th ch from hook).
In case this video does not open, go to  https://youtu.be/8s3zVaBcn4s
Before we head into the round, let me explain it.
We have worked sets of 3-hdc in Round 2.  So we will work our petals over his set of 3-hdc.  In each set we will sl-st into the 1st hdc ; work a ch 3, a dc 3-tog and another ch-3.  The last ch-3 will be sl-st into the last hdc of the set. Got it?
Round 3 :
[ch 3 + dc 3-tog over the 3 dc + picot + ch 3 ; sl-st in the last hdc of this 3-hdc set] over the 1st 3 dc ;
*Sl-st into the next hdc ;
rep [to] over the next 3 hdc* ;
rep *to* all around.
Join with a sl-st to the 1st st.  (8 petals)

Isn’t this just too cute a little flower ?

Finishing :
In case you are making this into a flower motif, fasten off and leave a tail for attachment.

In case you are making this into a keychain, join at the end of Round 3, and then work in a long chain for the length you want for your dangly keychain and attach it to the keychain ring.  Remember the number of chain you are working on one side to mirror when you work back to the flower motif.

If you would like to add more beads, then you will attach the beads on just after you attach your long chain length to the key chain ring.
Of course, you could also attach the beads on a separate chain and string that alongside too.

If you wish to add a bead in the centre, you could do it in two ways.
a)   Start with a longish tail and after you finish off your work, thread the bead into this start yarn and fasten it in the centre.  This is the easier and neater way ; OR
b)   Add the bead onto a thread after you are done with your work and thread it into that centre hole of your magic circle.
