It's quite hard finding baby stuff specifically for boys, isn't it? But this is a really cute jacket and perfect for what I am looking for. The jacket has this cute collar that runs around the back - almost adult-like and totally adorable. I paired it with a beanie so my client gets a full set. Come along and let's work on this together.

For Indians : You could use Anchor , Red rose or unbranded knitting cotton or Oswal Cashmilon acrylic 4-ply yarn as well
General yarn info : The yarn used today is not specific to this pattern.
You can use any yarn with a suitable hook to make this project to any size.
International yarns : Among the international yarns I have used in this thickness, I’d suggest Aunt Lydia Cotton 10, Aunt Lydia Bamboo-Viscose 10, DMC Petra, Sullivans knitting cotton (Australia), Milford Soft, Hilaza Rustica Eclat , Alize cotton yarn and Alize bamboo yarn.
Chainless start for Half Double Crochet : I dislike the ch-2 start, and this is what I do to start my row of hdc. Check out the video at https://youtu.be/lWXpl1KdbZ8
And then I paired it with a cute beanie from the wide selection of sizes here

This unusual four-row pattern repeat for a girl's frock-like jacket is one you should really try. This jacket has several sizes and is really cool. I’ve used some unbranded knitting cotton with a 3.75 mm crochet hook. I added a cute cap to match the jacket. Isn't it a really lovely combination?

In my patterns I work with the principle of stitch count and body measurement. This means that you need to work the stitch count in pattern, till you get the measurement (length and/or width) that you need for your project.
This is not my original pattern. Go Here or here for this pattern
What do you need before you start this pattern?
I always keep this info handy because sometimes (like for this pattern) the yarn/hook given does not match the yarn I have or want to use - so today I have adapted this pattern to suit my requirements.
I worked on the 4-yr old pattern to make it for a just over 3-yr old little girl
Measurements needed :
1) Full length of jacket (from shoulder to base of jacket)
2) Full length of sleeve (from shoulder to wrist)
3) Round chest
4) Round armhole
There are five parts to this creation, so let's start.
I found this chart that really helped me get my measurements.
Chainless start for Half Double Crochet : I dislike the ch-2 start, and this is what I do to start my row of hdc. Check out the video at https://youtu.be/lWXpl1KdbZ8
I took a few photos as I was working on my creation that may help clarify the construction.
so we start the fdc row and work left to right .. and but we're working the skirt in panels from top to bottom
the 4-row pattern repeat that creates one 'panel' .. and this is how the skirt portion looks when done
When we are finished with the skirt, we work along that top edge and we create the yoke (with armholes) along that top edge
and this is how it looks all done
I then made a cap for this cute creation using the information from this pattern here
Whatever pattern you decide, I can guarantee that the recipient will be really happy. So have fun, enjoy and spread smiles.
