LIL BOY CARDIGAN & BEANIE SET

It is always hard to find the right pattern for a lil boy.. and when my client asked for one, I chanced on this cute multi colored creation that would work as a unisex garment. As parents like neutral colors today, this was the perfect color choice.

I loved working on this set and my client loved it too...hopefully she'll remember to send me photos as promised ☺️

Materials used : Today I’ve used ~ about 200 gms of Oswal 4-ply acrylic yarn with a 4 mm crochet hook ; embroidery needle ; sewing needle ; fabric glue to seal ends ; crochet stitch markers ; buttons; press buttons ; satin ribbon ; headband ; tic-tac clips ; rubber band ; hair comb or barrette ; beads n more

For Indians : You could use Anchor , 4-ply knitting cotton , White Rose or bamboo knitting cotton , Milk cotton ; Silk yarns ; Vardhaman acrylic yarns ; Baby soft acrylic yarn , Ganga Spectrum as well

General yarn info : The yarn used today is not specific to this pattern.

You can use any yarn with a suitable hook to make this project to any size.

International yarns : Among the international yarns I have used in this thickness, I’d suggest Aunt Lydia Cotton 10, Aunt Lydia Bamboo-Viscose 10, DMC Petra, Sullivans knitting cotton (Australia), Milford Soft, Hilaza Rustica Eclat , Alize cotton yarn and Alize bamboo yarn , Lily Sugar n' Cream cotton yarn, Caron Simply Soft , Bernat Softee chunky.

Please note that I start all my rows with a ch 1, turning chain for ease.

So what did I differently?

Not very much.

I like my foundation single crochet start, so I used that to start.

Front Post Double Crochet : fpdc : Post stitches are stitches worked around the post of a stitch of the row below.

How to work the fpdc : yo, hk into sp between posts of st from row below – going from back of stitch, around st and into the front of the st ; yo, pull yarn through the sps (3 lps on hk), (yo & pull through 2 lps) twice. One fpdc complete

Here I changed the bottom of the beanie just a bit. As I wanted it to match the cardigan, I worked till I was about 2" from the length I wanted. I then worked 1 round of dc all around, ensuring that I worked 1 dc in each sc and 1 dc in each ch-sp as well. I then worked the same ribbing pattern using front and back post stitches to get the same effect. So this is one fpdc followed by one bpdc all around. You will then work fpdc in each fpdc and bpdc in each bpdc all around. I worked like we did for the sleeve ends from the cardigan pattern

And this is one cute cardigan n beanie set all ready to go.
