LIGHT & LACY CROCHET BEADED HEADBAND

This photo was sent to me – what an adorably cute baby, right?  I was asked to make something along these lines.  I am not sure what yarn, stitches are used here – all I see is cuteness and beads.

For this cute simple, beaded lacy headband (or belt) I’ve just strung in a few beads and worked chains.  Here’s roughly what I’ve done.

For this headband, I am going to work a length of chain, and add beads as I go along.  There is no fixed pattern per se – just an idea.. You can adjust the distance between the beads.. and you can add in more beads at each time too.. just go with the flow and create something cute and beautiful.

You can make this any length you want, using any yarn with a suitable hook.

Before you start, string in your beads – so check the link(s) at the top of this blog for a “how to”

Start Row 1 : with 20 chain, add bead ;
*ch 20 ; add bead* ;
rep *to* 2 times or till you are halfway down the headband ;
ch 21 ; Turn.

Row 2 : sc in 2nd ch from hk ; ch 10 ;
[sc in the next ch-20 sp , add bead] ;
*ch 20 ; rep [to] once* ;
rep *to* once, or till you are in the middle of the last ch-20 sp ;
ch 10, sc in the last sc ; Turn.

Row 3 : sc in 1st sc ; ch 5 ;
[sc in the next ch-20 sp , add bead] ;
*ch 20 ; rep [to] once* ;
rep *to* once, or till you are in the middle of the last ch-20 sp ;
ch 5, sc in the last sc .
Fasten off

If you decide to work in another row, you can either work one of the rows above, or just change the distance between the beads to get them off sync for a bit – a little imperfection works fantastically sometimes.  Go ahead, discover and create.
