Please read through all my notes before you pick up your hook, so you know just where we're heading in our pattern.
In my patterns I work with the principle of stitch count and body measurement.  This means that you need to work the stitch count in pattern, till you get the measurement (length and/or width) that you need for your project.

I've used this pattern to make a child's top and with the thick yarn I was using,I wondered if I could use the patten for the 6yr old to get a crop top for a young lady.. and it worked !! (for me) 🤷🏻‍♀️.
oh this is the child's top
this is originally a child's top

What did I do differently?
The only difference I made was to reduce the laciness or 'hole sizes'.  The pattern asks for (dc ; ch 1, dc) in the alternate lacy even numbered rows.  I am making a crop top and I preferred less body showing,  so I worked (sc ; ch 1, sc) for 4 rows and then 1 row of all dc (odd numbered row as per designer).

See if this works for you
Oh and if you're adding tassels ..

How to make a small pattern with your tassels : Here’s a quick tutorial at https://youtu.be/Pt5BMW_OlAg on making a small pattern using your tassels.

You can also work in a picot stitch if you so desire (around neckline or / and armhole opening).  I did not as I feel that this pattern is really beautiful in itself.

How to work a picot stitch : Traditionally for a ch-3 picot, you work (ch 3, sl-st in 3rd ch from hook).  For a ch-5 picot, you will do (ch 5, sl-st in 5th ch from hook).  Here’s a great video. https://youtu.be/8s3zVaBcn4s
